International Sales Team Member

The Job

Smith Seed is seeking a motived seed salesperson to join our International sales team in Halsey Oregon. This role focuses on building strong relationships with our customers, expanding current markets, and opening new international markets in the forage, turf and cover crop seed industry. The ideal candidate is proactive, knowledgeable, and comfortable working with a team and independently in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and strengthen relationships with customers.  
  • Learn Smith Seed products and markets and continue to develop product knowledge as new products and services are released. 
  • Evaluate customers’ needs and recommend varieties based on geography and production goals. 
  • Provide timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all products, while striving to maintain maximum profit margins. 
  • Create and conduct presentations for customers.
  • Maintain contact with customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. 
  • Travel as needed to support customers, attend industry events and develop new business opportunities. 

Qualifications

  • A suitable combination of education training and experience. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be proficient with productivity software applications Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Desire for long-term employment
