2024 - Auburn University Annual Ryegrass Trials
In March of 2024, we visited five of Auburn University’s forage trial sites, traveling from the top of the state to the southeast corner. There is much to see in each of these videos, but taken as a whole, they demonstrate how uniquely different one location can be from the next, especially early in the year. This is best typified when comparing the growth of the grasses in Crossville to the growth in Headland. Up north at Crossville, the grasses had not been cut at all and were mostly shorter than 12”. In contrast, at Headland, they had already been cut once and were ready for their second cutting with some pushing 24” of growth.
